We welcoming new members NOW! for the 2026 season (limited time 1/2 price new membership). Newhaven Bowling Club has been a cornerstone of the UK bowling community since 1902. As one of the first bowling clubs in the nation, we take immense pride in our rich history and enduring legacy. However we are also pleased to adopt and embrace progress. Try Bowls - Enjoy Bowls At Newhaven Bowling Club, we believe in inclusivity and warmly welcome members of all ages and genders. Bowls is a great game for all and one of the most inclusive sports available with members from 9 - 99. With national accredited coaches we can get you off to a great start or bring on your game to county level in no time. Our fixtures provide a dynamic and enjoyable playing experience for everyone, creating opportunities for camaraderie and fun and friendly competition on our beautiful green. If you're moving to the area, exploring the world of bowls for the first time, or considering a switch from another club, we encourage you to reach out and get involved. Whether you're a seasoned bowler seeking a new challenge or a newcomer eager to learn, our nationally qualified coach and experienced club members are here to support you every step of the way. From our humble beginnings to our current status as a founding member of both the EBA (now Bowls England) and the Sussex County Bowling Association, we've played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of bowls in our region. Located beside the harbour on the picturesque South Coast, just 10 miles west of Eastbourne and 10 miles east of Brighton, our club offers a prime location for touring clubs looking to experience the beauty of the South Coast. In addition to our rich history and welcoming atmosphere, we're proud to announce that we finished third in the very competitive Meridian League of local clubs—a testament to the skill and dedication of our members. Newhaven Bowling Club are now playing short mat bowls throughout the winter.
